What the school offers its staff

At James Peacock we celebrate every child as a unique individual. Our curriculum hooks children into learning through memorable, first‑hand experiences and a carefully sequenced progression from Nursery to Year 2. We prioritise high‑quality early reading and phonics, language development, OPAL outdoor learning and inclusive practice so every pupil, including those who are disadvantaged or have SEND can flourish.

We are committed to developing our staff and actively support colleagues to be the very best they can be. Many members of our team have completed NPQs and other externally accredited training, and we provide a planned CPD programme that combines expert-led workshops, coaching and collaborative triads. Staff work closely together in our three‑form entry model, sharing planning, resources and practice so lessons are engaging, knowledge‑rich and consistently well delivered. We also encourage creative, experiential approaches and make full use of our outdoor space and OPAL provision to bring learning to life.
