What skills and experience we're looking for

The purpose of the Cover Manager and Administration Assistant role is to assist with the daily organisation of staff cover. We are looking for a highly organised and quick-thinking individual who will embrace the daily challenges of arranging staff cover in our vibrant and thriving school.

Cover management is the main responsibility of the role, however there are some additional duties, including staffing reception and attendance administration that will work around this.

Cover Responsibilities

  • Ensure that there is adequate cover for absent teaching staff including liaison with Teacher Supply Agencies for long and short term cover
  • To maintain a cover diary and to ensure known authorised absences are published in the weekly staff diary and shared electronically with the Trust HR Team
  • To ensure that cover is distributed in an equitable way.

Additional Responsibilities

  • To receive and welcome visitors and deliveries, inform appropriate staff and ensure visitors sign into the school and are given security badges
  • To provide effective communication links (telephone, email, reception and messages) throughout the school including but not limited to telephone switchboard duties, taking and circulating messages
  • Assist with some of the daily routines in Attendance management for the school.
