Cover Supervisor job summary

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to provide cover supervision for absent teaching staff, delivering set work, managing behaviour, and liaising with supply staff.  During non-cover periods the successful candidate will be expected to undertake duties including supporting students in lesson, mentoring, exam invigilation, general administration, display work and lunchtime supervision.

There may be an opportunity to work closely within a curriculum area e.g., PE, determined by mutual agreement.

You will need to be able to work collaboratively and flexibly and build good relationships with both students and staff, demonstrating a respectful and caring attitude towards everyone in school.

Classroom experience and the ability to engage effectively with children is also a requirement.

This role is for 31.25 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8.30am-3.15pm, term time plus 1 day for staff training.

What we can offer you:

At All Saints Catholic College, we aim to create a happy workplace culture through promoting a healthy work/life balance. We do that by providing a package of flexible employee benefits, including:

  • An attractive pension scheme for both Teaching and Support staff.
  • A high-quality wellbeing package including medical cover, counselling, physiotherapy, fast track medical cover, care service and a 24 hour GP-helpline.
  • Care First Advice - a 24/7 information and counselling service.
  • We are part of the Cycle to Work scheme. Tax free bikes and safety equipment can be payable by payroll deduction through a partnership with Cyclescheme.
  • Free parking

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who are able to work as part of the whole staff team, and who will support and uphold the Catholic ethos and practices of the school.

All Saints is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, we expect all workers, volunteers and employees to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including online searches and a satisfactory Enhanced Criminal Record with Barred List check through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

It is an offence to apply for the role if an applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children (where the role involves this type of regulated activity).

A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.

Commitment to safeguarding

At All Saints Catholic College the highest level of safeguarding is practised in every aspect to ensure all students and staff feel safe. This enables our community to be able to thrive in a supportive environment within the College and to be able to raise any concerns with confidence of appropriate action.
