Creative Arts Technician job summary

We are seeking a motivated and practical Creative Arts and Design Technician to support teaching and learning across our Creative Arts Faculty, including Art, Food, and Design.

This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working in creative, hands-on environments and supporting young people to succeed. You will play a vital part in ensuring lessons run smoothly by preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and helping to create safe, engaging learning spaces.

The Role

As Creative Arts and Design Technician, you will:

  • Support pupils during practical lessons under the direction of teaching staff
  • Prepare, organise, and maintain materials, tools, ingredients, and specialist equipment
  • Ensure studios, kitchens, and workshops are clean, safe, and well organised
  • Assist with health and safety procedures and promote positive behaviour
  • Manage stock, storage, and basic record keeping
  • Carry out routine equipment checks, maintenance, and simple repairs
  • Provide general administrative and practical support to the faculty
  • Support exhibitions, events, and practical assessments when required

You will work across Art, Food, and Design and may be asked to support the wider Creative Arts Faculty as needed.

Training and Support

We recognise the versatile and multi-disciplinary nature of this role. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, including relevant health and safety training, to enable you to develop confidence and skills across all areas.
