Lead, Inspire, Transform
Grange Primary School is seeking an exceptional Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team, starting September 2026 (or potentially earlier), following the promotion of our current Deputy Headteacher. This is a career-defining opportunity for a proven senior leader who is also an outstanding classroom practitioner, ready to play a pivotal role in driving the school’s journey towardsexcellence for every child.
This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead teaching and learning across the school, building on our already high standards, promoting inclusion, and fostering excellence for every child. The Deputy Headteacher will work closely with and support the Headteacher, providing strategic and operational leadership to help shape the school’s vision, priorities, and ongoing improvement.
We are looking for a strategic and inspirational leader who can:
- Inspire and lead the school’s teaching and learning with clarity, ambition, and measurable impact
- Demonstrate exceptional behaviour management, creating calm, purposeful learning environments where all pupils thrive
- Show a proven track record of implementing and driving the School Improvement Plan (SIP) cycle, ensuring priorities are translated into sustained improvements in standards
- Confidently conduct lesson observations and provide high-quality, constructive feedback that empowers staff to enhance teaching and learning
- Use coaching and co-coaching approaches to develop staff, build confidence, and embed continuous improvement
- Be highly organised, able to prioritise effectively, and work with efficiency and impact across multiple leadership responsibilities
- Engage critically with educational research, using evidence-informed approaches to drive change
- Lead implementation with rigour — following initiatives through the full cycle of planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and refinement to ensure standards are positively impacted
- Empower and challenge staff, raising standards and unlocking potential across the school while maintaining an inclusive, supportive professional culture
- Lead with vision, ambition, and influence as a trusted role model to pupils, staff, parents, and the wider community
- Translate strategic goals into measurable impact, driving the school forward while maintaining its supportive, inclusive culture

- Proven whole-school leadership experience with a strong record of raising standards through strategic school improvement
- Outstanding classroom practice and deep understanding of high-quality teaching and learning
- The ability to translate vision into effective systems, structures, and sustainable impact
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build high-performing teams
- Passion, resilience, integrity, strong work ethic and dedication to making a real difference in the lives of children
