• A commitment to staff development and wellbeingThe Deputy Headteacher will lead the day-to-day operation of the Key Stage 3 site, including line management of Assistant Headteachers and teaching staff.

The role carries significant responsibility for leading staff and securing consistent practice across the Key Stage 3 team.

You will be accountable for:

  • securing consistent practice across staff
  • establishing high standards of behaviour and conduct
  • improving the quality of teaching
  • ensuring pupils are supported to re-engage with education and make sustained progress

This role requires a visible and decisive leader who can maintain calm, clarity and consistency in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

The postholder may, on occasion, be required to teach or support learning directly, reflecting the collective responsibility of leaders to model and uphold high standards of practice.

This is a significant senior leadership role within a well-established and collaborative leadership structure, working closely with the Co-Headteachers and Operations Director.

Our Key Stage 3 pupils present with a wide range of complex social, emotional and behavioural needs, often alongside significant barriers to learning. We are committed to providing a structured, consistent and relational environment in which all pupils can achieve, belong and thrive.

We are looking for a leader who is motivated by this context and ready to take responsibility for leading a key stage with clarity, consistency and high expectations.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a key stage within a specialist setting where strong relationships, consistency and high expectations are central to success.
