Deputy Headteacher job summary

The Deputy Headteacher deputises for the Headteacher in their absence and plays a crucial role in supporting the Headteacher to ensure the educational success of the academy within the framework of its strategic plans. They will assist in providing professional leadership and management within the academy, fostering a culture of excellence, equality and high expectations for all pupils. The Deputy Headteacher will contribute to the success of all students within Leger Education Trust by upholding the vision and values of the academy and ensuring outstanding educational provision. Additionally, they will support and influence others within and beyond the academy.

The role includes a teaching commitment, as well as leadership of a specific curriculum area(s). The Deputy Headteacher will take a lead role in day-to-day academy operations, ensuring consistency in teaching and learning, behaviour management and staff development. They will work collaboratively with the Headteacher to strengthen partnerships with parents, governors, the local community and key stakeholders.

Castle Hills is a mixed Primary Academy for children aged 3-11 years old. We currently have 286 children on roll and provide Nursery provision to include 30 hours per week.

We are committed to providing a high quality education for pupils, regardless of ability, and we offer a wide range of learning experiences that will inspire, engage and motivate all learners, leading to success and achievement.

Castle Hills is situated 2 miles North of Doncaster with easy access from the A1 and A19.

As a school, we offer our own Breakfast Club facilities from 7:15am until 8:45am and Tea Timers from 3:15pm until 6pm. We offer an extensive range of enrichment activities including after school clubs.
