We are seeking a senior educational leader who shares our belief that every child deserves an excellent education, regardless of background or circumstance.
- Qualified Teacher Status and senior leadership experience (SLT or equivalent)
- A strong track record of impact in curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment or professional development
- Deep understanding of Quality of Education expectations and inspection frameworks
- Experience influencing and supporting improvement across more than one school
- Excellent analytical and evaluative skills, with the ability to translate evidence into action
- The confidence and emotional intelligence to support and challenge constructively
- A clear commitment to equity, inclusion and improved outcomes for all learners
Experience working within a multi‑academy trust, local authority or inspection context is highly desirable.

Amethyst Academies Trust is seeking an exceptional and experienced Education Consultant – Quality of Education to join our Central School Improvement Team.
This is a high-impact, Trust-wide leadership role with strategic influence across curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment and professional practice development. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that high-quality education is secured consistently, equitably and sustainably across all Trust schools.
This is not a single-school post. It is an opportunity to shape and strengthen quality of education at scale, working alongside senior leaders to secure excellent outcomes for every learner.
The Opportunity
Working in close partnership with the Director of School Improvement, you will act as a trusted professional partner to Headteachers and senior leaders, combining credibility, rigour and moral purpose. You will:
- Provide strategic oversight and challenge across all Trust schools in relation to Quality of Education
- Strengthen Trust-wide and school-led quality assurance processes
- Support schools at different stages of improvement, including those causing concern
- Build leadership and staff capacity through coaching, professional development and system leadership
- Ensure Trust practice aligns with statutory expectations, inspection frameworks and best practice
This role is central to delivering the Trust’s moral purpose: ensuring every pupil benefits from an ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching and robust assessment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Curriculum: supporting ambitious, well-sequenced and inclusive curriculum design across subjects and phases
- Teaching & Learning: promoting and quality assuring high-quality classroom practice
- Assessment: strengthening meaningful, curriculum-aligned assessment and effective use of data
- Professional Practice Development: designing and delivering Trust-wide CPD and supporting leadership at all levels
- Quality Assurance: leading and contributing to reviews, audits, monitoring visits and evaluative reporting
- Capacity Building: developing sustainable systems and leadership capability across schools
