What skills and experience we're looking for

New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust is a vibrant, aspirational and inclusive multi-academy trust of eight special schools and two specialist post-16 provisions across Oldham, Tameside and Rochdale. As part of the wider New Bridge Group there are also two post-19 provisions. Our settings support a wide spectrum of needs from age 4-19 and beyond. The Trust is proud to be national leaders in Special Education and has a culture of creating outstanding opportunities for all. We are at an exciting point in our development, and this role will play a key role in supporting our schools and leaders to deliver high quality education through excellent estates management.

We are seeking an experienced, dynamic and values-driven Estates Manager to support the Head of Estates in the strategic and operational management of the Trust's estate across our Multi-Academy Trust. This pivotal role will ensure that all schools and provisions benefit from safe, secure, compliant, inclusive and well-maintained learning environments that enable high-quality education and positive outcomes for all pupils, including those with SEND.

The postholder will lead the coordination and delivery of capital projects, estate improvement programmes and asset management activities, while providing assurance on statutory compliance and supporting the development and implementation of the Trust's estates and facilities strategy. Working closely with Headteachers, School Business Managers, Premises Managers, contractors, consultants and external stakeholders, the Estates Manager will play a key role in shaping the future of the Trust's estate and supporting its continued growth and long-term strategic objectives.

We invite applications from individuals with substantial experience of estates management, ideally already in the education or public sector. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support the delivery of the Trust's estates strategy, ensuring safe, secure, compliant and high-quality learning environments across all schools and provisions.
  • Lead and coordinate capital projects, estate improvement programmes and planned maintenance activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
  • Oversee statutory compliance, health and safety requirements, risk assessments, COSHH procedures, and site security systems, maintaining high standards across the Trust.
  • Manage and monitor contractors, consultants and suppliers, ensuring works are completed to specification and provide value for money.
  • Maintain accurate estate, asset and compliance records, producing reports and supporting long-term estate planning and investment decisions.
  • Coordinate condition surveys, estate reviews and maintenance schedules, including specialist systems and equipment where required.
  • Support sustainability and climate action initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve estate performance and efficiency.
  • Provide professional advice and support to school leaders, Premises Managers and other stakeholders, promoting consistent estate management standards and a safe environment for children and young people.
  • Contribute to procurement activities, funding applications and the development of estate projects that support the Trust's strategic growth and educational objectives.
