Qualifications

1. Qualified to good degree level.

2. Qualified to teach and work in the UK.

Experience

3. Teaching experience with the age range (3-11) and/or subject(s) applying for and evidence of at least one year of whole class teaching experience and responsibility, consistently in one school (not supply teaching). Experience of teaching in Reception or KS1.

Knowledge and skills

The ability to effectively:

4. Create a stimulating and safe learning environment.

5. Establish and maintain a purposeful working atmosphere.

6. Plan, prepare and deliver the curriculum as relevant to the age and ability group/subject that you teach, other relevant initiatives and the school’s own policies.

7. Assess and record the progress of pupils’ learning to inform next steps and monitor progress.

8. Demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities and use a variety of strategies and practices to promote the diverse cultural and equality issues in the classroom.

9. Teach using a wide variety of strategies to maximise achievement for all children including those with special educational needs and high achievers and to meet differing learning styles.

10. Encourage children in developing self-esteem and respect for others.

11. Deploy a wide range of effective behaviour management strategies, successfully.

12. Communicate to a range of audiences (verbal, written, using ICT as appropriate).

13. Use ICT to advance pupils’ learning, and use common ICT tools for their own and pupils’ benefit.

    You will be welcomed into a three-form entry school with up to 30 children in each class. All classes are of mixed ability. There are two Nursery classes, three Reception classes, six Key Stage One classes and twelve Key Stage Two classes.
