What skills and experience we're looking for
Due to increasing pupil numbers into our popular school, the Governing Board of Coton-in-the-Elms C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced teaching assistant to join our wonderful school.
It would be beneficial if you were interested in working alongside our SENDCO, to provide pastoral care. The successful candidate will work primarily within the Key Stage 2 classroom but also may be be part of our Reading Squad who will support the teaching of reading from reception to Year 2. We are a compassionate school who will consider a flexible working pattern for the right candidate.
The successful candidates must:
- Be an enthusiastic and dedicated person who will encourage and engage with pupils.
- Have the patience and understanding to work with young children demonstrating outstanding care and support for pupils.
- Have experience in school working with pupils.
- Have a level 3 or higher qualification in order to be able to cover classes this will be paid at the higher HLTA rate).
- Demonstrate willingness to engage in professional development and whole school initiatives.
- Have the ability to work as part of team, forming positive relationships with adults and pupils.
- Be willing to complete any statutory training.

Coton-in-the-Elms C of E Primary School is a beautiful village school with approximately 140 pupils on roll, who are superbly behaved. Since September 2023 there has been a new leadership team in place, who have driven school improvement forwards and continued to ensure there is excellent provision for all its pupils.
