An exciting opportunity for a Facilities Operative working across two secondary schools under the direction of the Premises Manager to ensure the school’s buildings, contents and grounds are maintained to the highest standards for our pupils, staff and visitors. This is a full time, permanent post.
Having achieved another "record-breaking" set of results in summer 2025, and following on from our Ofsted visit in May 2024 where we were judged as a strong ‘Good’ in all areas, Buckler’s Mead Academy is
going from strength to strength.
The role supports the Premises Manager in areas including servicing, procurement, health and safety, contract management and premises development. Duties will include basic maintenance, repair and refurbishment tasks. The post holder will be a master key holder and ensure the school premises are unlocked at the start of each day and securely locked at the end of each day.
The successful candidate should be:
- A team player with a positive outlook and strong work ethic.
- Flexible and receptive to change.
- Able to maintain and manage accurate electronic records
- Able to reprioritise work at short notice, responding to urgent tasks while undertaking routine tasks.
- Organised and have good time management skills
- Capable of working with staff from all areas of the academy, external agencies and partner schools.
- Committed to high standards of quality

Originally established as Buckler's Mead School in 1957, Buckler’s Mead Academy is now a successful 11- 16 academy where we pride ourselves on providing an inspiring education for all.
