What skills and experience we're looking for
The Governors are looking for an enthusiastic person to complement our hard working, friendly and growing team at Boroughbridge Primary school and Nursery.
The successful candidate will:
•Be passionate about supporting and caring for children and young people.
•Hold a relevant qualification.
•Have experience of working with primary-aged children.
•Have knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
•Be able to demonstrate positive social skills and encourage high standards of behaviour.
•Have the ability to establish constructive working relationships with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
•Have effective verbal and written communication skills appropriate to working with pupils, parents/carers and colleagues.
•Be enthusiastic, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
The role will include:
•Interacting with pupils in ways that support the development of their ability to think and learn, including the use of effective questioning.
•Communicating effectively with pupils, families, carers and other agencies, as appropriate.
•Supporting children with their personal, social and emotional development.
•Encouraging inclusive and positive play and promoting positive relationships.
•Assisting class teachers in implementing appropriate behaviour management and teaching and learning strategies.
•Supporting individuals and small groups of pupils to access learning and achieve their full potential.
•Supervising and supporting pupils during the lunchtime period to ensure their safety, wellbeing and enjoyment.
