Governance Administrator job summary

We have two exciting opportunities to join the Diocese of Salisbury Academy Trust Governance Team as Governance Administrators.

Our Governance Administrators provide high-quality governance administration and clerking support, helping committees operate effectively and ensuring governance is compliant, well organised and focused on improving outcomes for children.

We are recruiting to two different committee allocations.

Governance Administrator - Academy Standards and Ethos Committees (ASECs)

This role currently supports four Academy Standards and Ethos Committees (ASECs). It includes all governance administration associated with each committee, including meeting preparation, agenda management, attendance at meetings, minute taking, action tracking, governor recruitment and onboarding, governor records, statutory compliance, clerking statutory panels and ongoing support to governors and school leaders. ASEC meetings are currently held six times each academic year, although the Trust is reviewing its governance meeting cycle from September 2027.

Governance Administrator - Hub Committees and Governance Cover

This role supports the Trust's five regional Hub Committees and provides governance administration cover across the Trust where required. It includes meeting preparation, agenda management, attendance at meetings, minute taking, action tracking, liaison with Trustees and Trust leaders, together with governance cover for committees and statutory panels when required. Hub Committees meet three times each academic year.

Please note that the Hub Committee role carries a smaller contractual commitment than the ASEC role.

Both posts are graded DSAT3 (£25,989-£26,824 per annum FTE or £13.47-£13.90 per hour, pro rata) and are term time only. Working arrangements are flexible and predominantly home-based, with attendance required at committee meetings, which are normally held during the late afternoon or early evening. Meetings may be held in person, online or as hybrid meetings, depending on the preferences of the Committee Chair and the needs of the Trust. The successful candidates will also be expected to attend one Trust INSET day each year, together with governance training and team meetings.

Full induction, mentoring and ongoing professional development will be provided, so previous governance or clerking experience is not essential. If you are organised, efficient, patient and enthusiastic about making a positive difference to children's education, we would love to hear from you.

Please indicate within your application whether you wish to be considered for either role or have a preference for one of the two committee allocations.
