Graduate Teaching Assistant / Midday Supervisor job summary
We are looking to appoint a friendly and caring teaching assistant with experience of working with young children. The role would particularly suit a graduate interested in becoming a primary school teacher through the SCITT route - learning on the job. The job would be working in a class with Year 3 pupils.
Upon finishing a successful period as a TA and meeting our SCITT criteria, the successful candidate would be offered a teacher training placement at the school.
We want to appoint a caring and patient Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning in our school. You will be working 5 mornings a week (17.5 hours), term time only. You will work with the children on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, supporting them in the classroom and playground. You will need to be organised, perceptive and sensitive to the needs of others, as well as being flexible, adaptable and work well in a team. Ideally experience of a similar role preferred, although training and support will be provided.
In order to provide continuity into the lunchtime break we expect our Teaching Assistants to take on some midday supervisor duties.
Holy Trinity is a popular thriving school with a friendly staff and a positive work environment. Standards of achievement are high, our children are well-behaved and staff enjoy working at Holy Trinity, with its calm and happy Christian ethos.
Our most recent Ofsted inspection (Nov 2016) confirms that we are a good school, with outstanding features. Our diocesan inspection (Jan 2017) judged us outstanding and recognised the strong relationships between staff.
Following all the recent changes and additional pressures in education we are committed to working towards an effective work / life balance for our staff.
If you are interested in joining our happy and thriving school, please complete an application and return to the school. We are able to welcome visits to the school but due to covid restrictions this would be done after school hours to minimise risk. Please take a look at our website or call the school to find out more information too.
Closing date for applications is noon on Monday 6th December. Interviews for successful candidates will be on Tuesday 7th December. Applicants who are not notified by the interview date should assume that they have not been short-listed.
The school is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS check and references.
