What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
  • A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
  • Enthusiasm for maintaining green spaces and sports pitches.
  • Understanding of health & safety procedures and willingness to learn.

It’d Be Great If You Also Have:

  • Horticulture or technical qualifications.
  • Experience working in an educational or public setting.
  • Familiarity with artificial turf maintenance or pesticide use (PA1/PA6).
  • Full UK driving licence.

About The Role

Brymore Academy is looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our friendly Premises team. If you have a green thumb, a great work ethic, and enjoy working in beautiful surroundings that support young people’s education, we’d love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Maintaining school grounds to a high standard: mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, planting, and general upkeep.
  • Using a range of grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Keeping storage areas tidy and tools well maintained.
  • Supporting the delivery of safe, accessible, and beautiful outdoor spaces for students and staff.
  • Following environmental and health & safety policies while performing all duties.
  • Some Site Maintenance Technician work as and when required.

Brymore is a State Boarding School for boys aged 11 - 17 set in its own 60 acre site in the Quantocks, an area of outstanding natural beauty, with a working farm, gardens, workshops and sports facilities which are fully utilised in the delivery of the curriculum to over 320 students of which 130 are boarders.
