Head of Financial Operations job summary

This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering an effective, relationship focused financial operations service across the Trust. The postholder will lead the Finance Business Partnering and Procure to Pay functions, ensuring that financial planning, budgeting, management reporting, payroll oversight, procurement and treasury activities operate efficiently and support high-quality decision making across the organisation.

Working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, the Head of Financial Operations will provide strategic financial insight to Executive Leaders, Trustees and school leaders, supporting the delivery of the Trust's strategic objectives through robust financial planning, operational excellence and continuous improvement.

The role will lead the annual budget setting process, oversee management reporting, cashflow management and procurement, whilst ensuring schools receive high-quality financial support and challenge. The successful candidate will play a significant role in embedding a culture of financial accountability, value for money and excellent customer service across the Trust.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in financial management, budgeting and operational finance, within the education sector. They will be a collaborative leader with excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships and driving continual improvement across a complex organisation.
