What skills and experience we're looking for
- To work in partnership with the Executive Head Teacher of the Federation, providing high-quality professional leadership for Purley Nursery School, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, and achievement.
- To provide day-to-day leadership and management of the school—children, staff, resources, and buildings—and is the first point of contact for all stakeholders and external agencies in matters relating to the school.
- To lead school development and provide support for teaching and learning.
- To provide effective leadership and management for breakfast club, after-school club provided by Purley Nursery School.
- To ensure that the school provides an environment in which there is equality of opportunity for pupils, parents, carers, and staff in all its activities.
What the school offers its staff
The Governors of Purley Nursery School are seeking to appoint a motivated professional to the role of Head of School.
This is a superb opportunity for a dynamic and experienced teacher who is passionate about children's learning in the early years. The school is federated with Christ Church School, and the two schools work very closely together. The Federation has preserved the school’s identity while providing significant strategic support.
The school is an outstanding provider of Early Years education (Ofsted 2023). The school has 120 part time places and is highly inclusive and aims to ensure all children in our culturally diverse community leave as happy, confident learners. The school is open year-round and provides extended services to families in the community, including breakfast clubs and after-school clubs.
