Healthcare/Pastoral Support Assistant – To Start Asap

Salary: L3 (£20,614 FTE - £21,277 Actual gross per annum)

Job type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 35 Hours per week – 38 + 5 Training days per year

Hours of work: 08:30am – 4:00pm (Monday to Friday)

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a Healthcare/Pastoral Support Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and flexible individual. Applicants will ideally have suitable experience in the provision of medical and healthcare for young children with additional experience of SEND admin support.

About you

We wish to appoint someone who:

Ideally have previous experience working within a school environment

Experience working with children with medical needs

Desirable but not essential, experience of SEND admin support

Excellent communication skills and able to converse with both children and parents (fluent in English)

Available for in class support

Knowledge of Safeguarding in a school environment

Able to dispense medication and controlled drugs, monitor, record and order while working within the medication policy of the school

Able to work as part of a team

Appropriate attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline

Paediatric First Aid trained or able to train and pass

Some manual handling tasks

Willing and able to undertake training and development as and when required

Willing to support in class as and when needed (under instruction from the Senior Leadership Team)
