The successful applicant will:
Have an understanding of pupils with SEN and a holistic understanding of child development.
Be reliable and flexible.
Be calm and patient.
Be able to act on their own initiative.
Be able to carry out a speech and language programme under the guidance of the Speech and Language Therapist.
Be able to work as part of a team with excellent communication skills.
Be confident to liaise with staff, parents and other professionals.
Have a professional attitude and understand the need for confidentiality.
Have high expectations for children’s learning and behaviour.

The school seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, patient and caring Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a Part Time position of 15.5 hours per week. The position is to support some of our youngest children in our 2-year-old Room in Nursery.

Twerton Nursery and Infant School is a 2-form entry infant school with an onsite Nursery for 2 and 3 year olds. We are an LA Maintained school and we work closely with 6 other primary schools in BANES within the South Gloucester Learning Alliance, which provides wide-ranging support and CPD.
