Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) job summary
St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary Academy Halifax have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic HLTA to complement our existing team. St Joseph’s achieve results in the top 1% nationally and is rated by Ofsted as a good school with children who are enthusiastic and willing to learn. We are a smaller than average Primary Academy and cater for children in the 4-11 age range. We have an Early Year’s Unit, 1 KS1 class and 3 KS2 classes. Some of the classes are mixed age groups.

The Successful Candidate will:
Be committed to supporting and promoting the ethos, vision and values of Catholic education.
Be able to support high-quality teaching and learning and contribute to Quality First Teaching approaches.
Be a skilled and nurturing practitioner who can support pupils to develop a love of learning, build confidence and achieve their potential.
Have experience of delivering learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under the direction of a qualified teacher.
Be highly motivated, adaptable and committed to achieving high standards for all pupils.
Have the ability to work independently, use initiative and exercise professional judgement within an agreed framework.
Be able to build positive relationships with pupils and support their academic, social and emotional development.
Be able to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and wider school colleagues to make a positive contribution to the school community.
