What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an Inclusion Provision Curriculum Leader to work within our inclusion provision for KS3 and KS4,The Connect, at The Portsmouth Academy.
You will lead the curriculum within The Connect in order to support pupils to embed the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed for a successful return to mainstream lessons. The Curriculum Leader will promote, direct and have oversight of high standards of pupil behaviour through effective group and individual support. The provision is supported by a committed team of Learning Mentors and ELSAs.
The Connect at The Portsmouth Academy supports a cohort of around 20 pupils across KS3 and KS4 on bespoke intervention programmes providing support and mentoring lasting 12-24 weeks. The KS3 programme is delivered mainly by the Connect staff and the majority of the KS4 programme is delivered by curriculum departments from across the school.

- Qualified Teacher Status
- Be passionate about teaching and learning with a positive outlook
- Outstanding classroom practice with high expectations for achievements and behaviour
- Provide a differentiated, balanced, progressive, varied and stimulating curriculum in line with statutory and school requirements while taking into account each pupils’ educational needs
- Lead and run the twilight provision after school between 3 – 5pm with the support of the pastoral team
- You will be dedicated to ensure that all of our children achieve their very best
- An aspiring leader of learning and happy to grasp exciting CPD opportunities
- Contribute to the values, ethos and the development of our school
