IT Admin Assistant- Level 4 job summary

Main Purpose of the Job
To manage the administrative function within the MAT central IT team.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

Provide admin and organisational services to the Head of IT and the MAT central IT team

Contribute to the development of administration policies

Provide support, advice and guidance on administrative issues

Liaise with other staff, stakeholders and external agencies

Develop and maintain recording and information systems.

Provide admin support to colleagues across the MAT

Operates bespoke information management systems (For example Every)

Responsible for completion and submission of forms, returns etc., including those to outside agencies

Produce, and respond to, correspondence

Contribute to marketing and promotion of the CPD training courses for the central team

Monitor service contracts and liaise with academies, central teams and contractors

To administer the maintenance budget for the IT central team

Any other duties appropriate to the post.

Minimum Essential Requirements – Evidenced by A: Application form B: Test, C: Interview

Experience of development, management, and operation of admin systems

Working at or towards occupational standards in business and admin – knowledge/ skills equivalent to the current national qualification level 3


The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, as part of their day-to-day administrative duties. They should be confident in using Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets, input and organise data, and perform basic calculations using formulas. Familiarity with features such as sorting, filtering, and formatting is essential for producing accurate records and reports. Competence in other Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Outlook isalso important for effective communication and document management.
