What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking enthusiastic, committed and caring Teaching Assistants to support teaching and learning across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A Level 3 qualification in Early Years/Childcare or above
  • Experience of working with primary-aged children in KS1 or KS2
  • Experience of delivering interventions to support pupil progress
  • A good understanding of phonics, reading and early maths strategies
  • Experience of supporting children with SEND or an understanding of inclusive practice
  • Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers
  • Experience of supporting learning through targeted interventions and classroom support
  • Skilled interactions to support children’s communication, learning and development
  • Confidence using ICT, including iPads, computers and educational apps
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A positive, flexible and reliable approach to work
  • High expectations for all pupils and a commitment to inclusion
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
