Bosley St Mary’s CE Primary School
Full Time
Start date: As soon as possible - ideally immediately after October half term

About this Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Bosley St Mary’s CE Primary School at an exciting point in our development.

We are a small, friendly and ambitious rural primary school where relationships matter, children are known as individuals and staff have the opportunity to make a genuine difference. Our vision is simple: Every Learner Flourishing.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and committed KS1 Class Teacher to join our team as soon as possible.

This role would suit someone who loves teaching, has high expectations for children and is excited by the opportunity to work within a small-school environment where their contribution will genuinely matter.

We are looking for a teacher who combines warmth with high expectations; who understands the importance of strong foundations, clear routines and excellent teaching; and who believes that every child can succeed.

The Role

The successful candidate will take responsibility for teaching within Key Stage 1 and will work closely with colleagues across our small school team.

You will:

  • provide consistently high-quality teaching and learning;

  • create a calm, purposeful and inclusive classroom environment;

  • establish clear routines and high expectations for learning and behaviour;

  • ensure learning is ambitious and appropriately adapted so that all pupils can succeed;

  • develop strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics;

  • use assessment effectively to identify gaps, respond to pupils’ needs and plan next steps;

  • support pupils with SEND and additional needs through thoughtful, inclusive classroom practice;

  • work effectively with teaching assistants and other colleagues;

  • build positive relationships with pupils and families;

  • contribute to curriculum development and school improvement; and

  • play an active part in the wider life of Bosley St Mary’s.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds Qualified Teacher Status;

  • is an excellent, reflective classroom practitioner;

  • has high expectations of both learning and behaviour;

  • has a strong understanding of effective teaching in Key Stage 1;

  • understands how children develop secure foundations in early reading, writing and mathematics;

  • is committed to inclusive practice and ambitious outcomes for all pupils;

  • can adapt teaching effectively while maintaining high expectations;

  • builds warm, positive relationships with children while providing clear and consistent boundaries;

  • is organised, proactive and willing to take responsibility;

  • enjoys working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team;

  • is open to feedback and committed to continuing professional development;

  • is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; and

  • will support the Christian vision and values of Bosley St Mary’s CE Primary School.

Experience of teaching in Key Stage 1 would be advantageous.

Why Bosley?

There is something genuinely special about working in a small school.

You have the opportunity to know children exceptionally well, work closely with families and colleagues and see the impact of your teaching every day. Staff have a real voice in shaping provision, developing the curriculum and contributing to the future direction of the school.

We can offer:

  • a warm, welcoming and supportive school community;

  • children who are curious, individual and full of potential;

  • a committed staff team who work closely together;

  • a school with a clear vision and ambitious plans for improvement;

  • opportunities to contribute ideas and shape practice;

  • strong professional development and support;

  • the chance to take on responsibility and develop professionally; and

  • the opportunity to make a genuine difference in a school committed to ensuring every learner flourishes.

We would warmly encourage prospective applicants to visit or contact the school to find out more about us and the role.
