KS2 Class Teacher job summary
We hope that you will bring your skills, talent, and passion to further enhance the wide range of offerings that support every child, whatever their need, in order to allow them to become a light for the world. Wenlock CE Academy is a place where you can flourish as a teacher.
What the school offers its staffWe have enhanced teachers' pay and conditions by providing a health scheme (BUPA), a cycle-to-work scheme, and performance-related pay progression. To enable teachers to become the best they can be, we support them with fortnightly leadership time to develop their subjects. We offer a full suite of NPQs through the Church of England and support all teachers to upskill their professional development. We are a friendly, diverse, and passionate team that relishes the honour of working with children from a range of backgrounds to ensure we give them the very best opportunities in their primary education and to set them up for life.
Further details about the roleWe are seeking to recruit a KS2 teacher to be initially based in Year 4. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of great teachers and a fantastic junior school. For the right candidate, there is the opportunity for Core subject leadership and/ or a role as a year representative.
With our excellent provision for professional development, you will benefit from support and development that will allow you to flourish as a teacher. Our school vision is 'With God's love, we are lights for the world', so you will join a team that creates a powerful ethos that supports children to have high aspirations to achieve their full potential. Teachers from across our Trust come together in networks to create a knowledge-rich and purposeful curriculum; there are many opportunities to collaborate with other Trust schools, from residential to choir performances and the sharing of best practices. We will empower you to teach innovatively, reflectively, and collaboratively. Our fantastic team of teachers deliver high-quality lessons. This is an opportunity for you to build on your current experience.
We have dedicated mental health leads, and through a supportive network of teachers in each year's group who share their planning digitally, the combined talents of the teachers from across the year group will support you in your teaching role.
Wenlock is a well-resourced learning environment with a dedicated library, large sports field and forest school site. Additionally, there is a well-planned outdoor education programme with an extensive range of trips and residentials. Sport is a core thread where the children are taught by a sports coach and their class teacher, as well as the daily mile, OPAL play, and lunchtimes. Every child has the chance to find their area to shine, whether through the creative arts, music, or sporting competitions, while maintaining that crucial focus on ensuring that the core literacy and numeracy skills are well taught to unlock wider opportunities. We provide a full range of extra-curricular activities, some led by our staff and some by our wrap-around care provider, with whom we work very closely.
We hope that you will bring your skills, talent, and passion to further enhance the wide range of services that support every child, whatever their needs.
Visits to the schools are welcome by prior arrangement.
