What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to additional funding, we are looking to expand our learning mentor team.

This is a part-time position available on a 1-year fixed term contract.

The post holder will support small groups of students in Years 9 – 11 whose academic progress may have been adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Individuals taking up this role will be required to work between 10am-4pm, averaging 15-20 hours per week for a fixed term one year contract, with scope for this to be extended further based upon the success of the programme. Learning mentors may also be asked to contribute towards weekend and holiday intervention activities.

Candidate should have expertise and enthusiasm for supporting students to improve their English/literacy and be willing to share this with other young people. The successful candidate will receive training to support them in effectively delivering these small group interventions.

Strong communication skills, patience and empathy will be vital for this role.
