What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to recruit an outstanding Lead Teacher for our Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) who is passionate about inclusion and has strong experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). This is a key leadership role within the provision, combining high-quality specialist teaching with responsibility for leading and managing the SRP staff team.
The successful candidate will have a positive ethos and a strong skillset for supporting pupils who experience challenges with social communication, emotional regulation and sensory processing differences. You will be creative, proactive and highly organised, ensuring that pupils feel safe, supported and fully included within school life. Our aim is to help pupils develop the social and emotional skills they need to live happy, fulfilling and as independent lives as possible.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Lead Teacher will deliver a bespoke curriculum and promote inclusive education within the Specialist Resource Provision. Teaching will include structured lessons, group interventions and supporting pupils within their mainstream link classes.
In addition, the Lead Teacher will take responsibility for leading and managing the SRP team, ensuring a consistent, calm and purposeful learning environment. The role will involve daily delegation of duties, leading staff meetings and training, supporting the SENCO with EHCP processes, and working closely with parents and external professionals to ensure every pupil’s needs are met.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Management
- To lead and manage the SRP staff team, ensuring clear roles, consistent practice and high expectations.
- To organise and delegate daily duties within the team, including playground rotas, support arrangements and classroom responsibilities.
- To lead regular SRP team meetings and deliver training for both SRP and mainstream staff to support inclusive practice.
- To support the SENCO with annual reviews and EHCP processes, including writing reports and monitoring pupil progress.
- To work under the direction of the Head of School and SENCO while contributing to the strategic development of the SRP.
Teaching and Learning
- To plan and deliver a structured, adapted curriculum that meets the individual needs of pupils.
- To provide a calm, predictable and supportive learning environment where pupils feel safe, understood and well-regulated.
- To use creative and innovative approaches based on pupils’ strengths and interests to maximise engagement.
- To support pupils within their mainstream link classes and work closely with class teachers to ensure effective differentiation.
- To promote social interaction, positive relationships and a sense of belonging across the school.
- To lead enrichment activities and community trips, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are in place.
Working with Others
- To build strong and positive relationships with parents and carers.
- To liaise regularly with external professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists (SALT), Occupational Therapists (OT) and other specialists.
To ensure that all support provided is coordinated and meets the needs outlined in pupils’ EHCPs.

Queen’s Park serves a diverse population and is set in north Westminster, on the border with the London borough of Brent. The building is listed, which brings restrictions and as such we continue to make improvements with the limited space and layout.
Mobility is higher than national average, with some families new to the country or new to the borough. The school is currently oversubscribed with a waiting list across the early years of the school.
All year groups have an intake of 44 with class sizes of 22.
The school has a clear mental health and wellbeing focus and have been recognised at national awards ceremonies for the work they do.
