We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, and passionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team. Many of our pupils have experienced trauma or face diverse learning challenges; they need an educator who understands that "behaviour is communication" and who can provide the empathy and stability they need to flourish.

Initial contract will be fixed term until 31.08.26, however with the possibility of a further contract / permanent position

Term Time ONLY - hours 8.15am - 3pm

The Role: Impactful & Rewarding

As an LSA, you will work closely with class teachers to deliver a fun, functional, and tailored curriculum. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Tailored Support: Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Specialist SEND Support: Implementing plans for Speech, Language, and Communication (SLCN) and supporting pupils with moderate or specific learning difficulties.
  • SEMH & Trauma-Informed Care: Using professional insight to de-escalate challenges and help pupils manage their emotions and mental health.
  • Active Supervision: Ensuring a positive school experience by supporting safe play and social interaction during break and lunchtimes.
  • Safeguarding Excellence: Maintaining a culture of vigilance and adhering strictly to KCSIE statutory guidance to keep our children safe.

About You

You are a calm, solution-focused individual who puts children’s needs first. You bring:

It would be desirable although not essential to have:-

  • Experience of working with SEND children
  • Good standard of education minimum English & Maths
