St Mary’s Catholic Academy is proud to be part of the St Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Multi Academy Trust. Following our recent Ofsted inspection, where we were judged to have achieved a strong standard in all areas of the framework, we are seeking to appoint a dedicated, hardworking and committed Teaching Assistant to join our enthusiastic and supportive team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and making a positive difference to their educational journey. We are looking for a caring, proactive and flexible practitioner who will work closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure every child can thrive and achieve their full potential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Support children individually and in small groups, adapting provision on a daily basis to ensure access to a differentiated and highly personalised curriculum.
  • Be proactive, flexible and responsive in meeting the changing needs of children.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and external professionals to deliver personalised programmes of support and help pupils achieve their identified targets.
  • Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, helping to maintain strong links between home and school.
  • Collaborate effectively with a range of external agencies, drawing upon their expertise and recommendations to provide the best possible support for pupils.
  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 qualification for Teaching Assistants (or a recognised equivalent qualification).
  • Ideally have relevant training and/or experience in supporting children with communication and interaction needs, including the use of a range of language and communication strategies.

The successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday - 8:30am - 12pm.

We can offer:

  • A friendly, welcoming and inclusive school community where everyone is valued.
  • A positive and supportive environment that encourages innovation, creativity and new ideas.
  • The opportunity to work alongside an enthusiastic and dedicated team within our school and across the wider Trust.
  • Happy, well-behaved and enthusiastic children who enjoy learning.
  • Highly supportive staff, parents, governors and Trust colleagues.
  • A strong commitment to your ongoing professional development and career progression including the opportunity to develop through level 3 and 5 apprenticeships.

If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and would like to be part of a thriving Catholic school community, we would be delighted to hear from you.
