What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking to recruit an outstanding Nursery Room Leader to lead our nursery class, as part of our friendly, dedicated and experienced team. You will work together with our EYFS leader to ensure consistently high quality provision for all our children.

We are looking for candidates with a professional approach, who have enthusiasm for teaching children through play and can deliver the Early Years curriculum in an effective and engaging way.

As room leader you will take responsibility for the day to day running of the nursery, working closely with the reception class teacher/EYFS leader. You will have high expectations of yourself, the children in your care and your colleagues, modelling what excellent practice looks like.

There is an expectation that all members of the team will take on a key person role for a small group of children and be able to identify next learning steps and communicate this with the wider team and parents.

As part of the Eynsham Partnership Academy, you will have access to high quality professional development and training as well as opportunities for career development.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to lead through modelling good practice.
  • Be able to support staff in their team ,where needed, through CPD, professional dialogue and training.
  • Be able to plan provision according to the needs of all children.
  • Have the children’s needs at the heart of everything they do.
  • Have high expectations of all children.
  • Deliver the curriculum in an inspirational way.
  • Be a reflective practitioner
  • Be a key person to a group of children
  • Monitor key children’s progress to ensure they reach developmental targets, liaising with the wider school team about any concerns.
  • Support children’s learning and development through play.
  • Help children become more independent and transition into school life.
  • Work effectively with parents to promote children’s learning.
