Lunchtime Supervisor job summary

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Lunchtime Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Horton Park Primary School.

This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in ensuring that our pupils enjoy a safe, happy, and positive lunchtime experience. As part of our lunchtime team, you will help create a calm and welcoming environment where children can eat, play, socialise, and thrive.

The successful candidate will supervise pupils both in the dining hall and on the playground, promoting positive behaviour, encouraging social interaction, and supporting children to develop confidence, independence, and strong relationships with their peers.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Will:
  • Provide effective supervision of pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring their safety, welfare, and wellbeing at all times.
  • Create a calm, positive, and enjoyable dining environment, encouraging good manners and healthy social interaction.
  • Support and encourage positive play experiences, helping children develop friendships, confidence, and resilience.
  • Promote inclusion by ensuring all children feel valued, supported, and able to participate in lunchtime activities.
  • Help children resolve minor disagreements and model positive behaviours and respectful relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure lunchtimes run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare responsibilities.
  • Have experience of working with children or young people and a genuine commitment to supporting their development.
