MAT Compliance Officer job summary

At Sidney Stringer Multi Academy Trust, we are currently seeking to appoint a MAT Compliance Officer.

Job overview

The Compliance Officer will work as part of the Central MAT Team to support regulatory compliance, operational assurance and information governance across all schools within the Trust.  The post-holder will provide practical compliance support across key statutory and operational areas, including gathering and coordinating Health & Safety (H&S) compliance records, supporting third-party contractor checks, maintaining compliance records and trackers, and supporting UK GDPR and information governance requirements. The role will also provide wider compliance checking and administrative support to the Operations and Finance functions as required.

Hours of work

37 hours per week - 52 weeks per year

Job requirements

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
• Experience of providing administrative or compliance support in a busy working environment
• Experience of maintaining accurate records, trackers and evidence against defined requirements
• High level of proficiency in IT packages, including Google Workspace or equivalent
• Good understanding of administrative compliance and the importance of accurate, auditable records
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
