About the Role

As a Midday Supervisory Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising pupils during the midday break, both in the dining hall and, at times, outdoors. You will help ensure that lunchtime is a safe, calm and happy experience for all children, promoting positive behaviour in line with the school’s policies and Christian ethos.

The role also includes supporting pupils during meals, assisting with basic cleaning and clearing duties in dining areas, and responding appropriately to minor accidents or incidents.

  • Support pupils in the dining hall, including moving to and from dining areas
  • Assist pupils with meals where necessary (e.g. trays, cutlery, drinks)
  • Maintain good order and behaviour during lunchtime
  • Assist with clearing tables, wiping surfaces and dealing with spillages
  • Carry out minor first aid and report accidents or incidents appropriately
  • Supervise pupils on the playground or external areas when required
  • Work closely with other staff and fully comply with safeguarding procedures

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Calm and confident in responding to challenging behaviour
  • Organised, flexible and reliable
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to upholding the Christian ethos of St Andrew’s
  • Enthusiastic, resilient and self-motivated

No formal qualifications or previous experience are required, as training can be provided. Experience of working with children or in a school setting would be an advantage.
