About this Role

Are you a skilled and enthusiastic cook with a passion for delivering nutritious, freshly prepared meals? We are looking for a Mobile Cook to join our catering team, working across multiple schools within our academy trust. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting healthy eating and well-being across our school communities.

About the Role:

As a Mobile Cook, you’ll be responsible for supporting school kitchens across our trust – covering staff absence, assisting during busy periods, and ensuring continuity of service. You’ll travel between sites as required (mileage reimbursed), bringing your skills and positive attitude to a variety of teams and school settings. Your role will primarily be in the Doncaster region, between Brooke Primary School, Marshland Primary School, New Pastures Primary School, Milton School and Adwick Primary School. Occasional travel to Hull may be required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and serve high-quality, nutritious meals in line with school food standards

  • Assist with menu preparation, portion control, and allergen management

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment

  • Work flexibly across multiple school sites within the trust

  • Liaise with on-site kitchen staff and managers to ensure smooth service delivery

  • Follow all food safety, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures

What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a school or similar environment but not essential

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain)

  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential – mileage paid)

  • Ability to adapt quickly to different teams and kitchen settings

  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to supporting young people’s well-being

What We Offer:
  • Supportive and inclusive working environment across our academy trust

  • Term-time only schedule (ideal for work-life balance)

  • Paid travel between school sites (mileage reimbursed)

  • Training and development opportunities

  • Uniform and equipment provided

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in young people’s daily lives by ensuring they receive healthy, enjoyable meals every day.
