Mobile Maintenance Technician job summary

The Opportunity

As a Mobile Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in creating safe, welcoming and inspiring environments where pupils can thrive. Working across Brooke Weston Trust schools, you will see first-hand the difference your skills make, helping to ensure that learning spaces are well maintained, compliant and ready to support exceptional education every day. Through your work, you will remove barriers to learning, provide practical solutions to keep schools running smoothly and contribute to positive experiences for students, staff and visitors alike. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative Trust team, making a visible impact while supporting our mission to raise achievement and equip every student with the confidence, skills and qualifications that become their tickets for life.

About the Role

As a Mobile Maintenance Technician, you will help ensure that Brooke Weston Trust’s schools remain safe, welcoming and fully operational environments where students can focus on learning and achieving their potential. Working across multiple Trust sites, you will provide a responsive maintenance service, carrying out a wide range of repairs, routine maintenance tasks and site improvements that support the day-to-day running of our schools.

This is a varied and hands-on role that combines practical maintenance expertise with a strong commitment to service. You will work closely with school staff, contractors and Trust colleagues to resolve issues quickly, support planned maintenance programmes and contribute to statutory compliance activities. You will also help identify and address potential risks, maintain accurate records using electronic systems and respond effectively to urgent repairs and site-related incidents when required.

Success in this role means delivering high-quality maintenance solutions that minimise disruption to teaching and learning, while maintaining high standards of safety, presentation and compliance across all sites.

We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual with experience in facilities or building maintenance, strong practical problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach. You will be able to work independently, manage competing priorities and build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. A sound understanding of health and safety, a commitment to professional standards and a willingness to work collaboratively will be essential. In return, you will be part of a Trust that values working together, maintains high expectations and is committed to removing barriers to learning so that every student can succeed.

Be part of something bigger

At Brooke Weston Trust, we believe education has the power to transform lives. Our purpose is to give every child and young person the knowledge, qualifications, confidence, character and opportunities that become their tickets for life.

Each of our schools has its own identity, shaped by the community it serves, while benefiting from being part of a connected and collaborative Trust. Together, we share ideas, expertise and opportunities so that our pupils, colleagues and schools can flourish.

Whatever your role, you will be part of a wider team united by a shared purpose. Whether you work directly with pupils or support their education in another way, your contribution helps to create the experiences and opportunities every child deserves.

A simple question guides our decisions and keeps children at the centre of our work:

Is this good enough for our children?

A place to belong, grow and make a difference

Our people are central to everything we achieve. We want every colleague to feel that they belong, are valued for their contribution and are supported to build a fulfilling career.

As part of our Trust, you will have opportunities to develop your expertise, learn with and from colleagues across our schools and central teams, contribute your ideas and explore future career opportunities.

You will be part of a professional community that shares knowledge, celebrates success and works together to make a lasting difference to children, families and communities.

We are committed to creating positive and inclusive working environments built on trust, respect and shared responsibility. We want colleagues to feel supported to do their best work, encouraged to develop and confident that their contribution matters.
