Site Assistant job summary

The Opportunity

As a Site Assistant, you will play an important part in creating the safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment that enables students and staff to succeed every day. Your contribution will help ensure that the school remains a place where learning can flourish, barriers to achievement are removed and everyone feels supported to do their best.

This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who takes pride in practical work, enjoys being part of a team and wants to make a visible difference within a school community. Working alongside colleagues across the school and wider Brooke Weston Trust, you will help provide the high-quality environment that supports students in gaining the qualifications, skills and self-belief that become their tickets for life.

If you are proactive, reliable and motivated by serving others, this role offers the chance to contribute to an organisation committed to raising achievement, supporting communities and transforming educational outcomes for young people.

About the Role

As a Site Assistant, you will be part of the team responsible for creating a safe, secure and well-maintained environment where students and staff can thrive. Your work will make a direct contribution to the day-to-day experience of the school community, helping to ensure that facilities and grounds are welcoming, functional and ready to support high-quality teaching and learning.

This is a varied, hands-on role that combines practical maintenance and site support with a strong customer-focused approach. Working closely with the Site Supervisor and wider estates team, you will assist with the upkeep of buildings and grounds, help address maintenance issues, support health and safety compliance activities and contribute to the overall presentation and security of the site. No two days are the same, and you will play an important role in ensuring the school operates smoothly and efficiently.

Success in this role means taking pride in maintaining high standards, responding proactively to issues and helping to create an environment where learning can take place without unnecessary disruption. You will be practical, reliable and organised, with good problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to delivering excellent service are just as important as previous maintenance or site experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to join Brooke Weston Trust, working alongside dedicated colleagues who share a commitment to high expectations, collaboration and removing barriers to learning so that every student can achieve their full potential.

Be part of something bigger

At Brooke Weston Trust, we believe education has the power to transform lives. Our purpose is to give every child and young person the knowledge, qualifications, confidence, character and opportunities that become their tickets for life.

Each of our schools has its own identity, shaped by the community it serves, while benefiting from being part of a connected and collaborative Trust. Together, we share ideas, expertise and opportunities so that our pupils, colleagues and schools can flourish.

Whatever your role, you will be part of a wider team united by a shared purpose. Whether you work directly with pupils or support their education in another way, your contribution helps to create the experiences and opportunities every child deserves.

A simple question guides our decisions and keeps children at the centre of our work:

Is this good enough for our children?

Our people are central to everything we achieve. We want every colleague to feel that they belong, are valued for their contribution and are supported to build a fulfilling career.

As part of our Trust, you will have opportunities to develop your expertise, learn with and from colleagues across our schools and central teams, contribute your ideas and explore future career opportunities.

We are committed to creating positive and inclusive working environments built on trust, respect and shared responsibility. We want colleagues to feel supported to do their best work, encouraged to develop and confident that their contribution matters.
