What skills and experience we're looking for

Oaklands is an outstanding special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism. Oaklands is at an exciting point in its development. High Oaks is situated on Gresham Road in a purpose-built new school building. New Oaks Primary operates in a newly refurbished building in Woodlands Road Isleworth. Both schools offer state of the art facilities for our students.

We are looking to appoint a qualified Occupational Therapist to join a growing therapy team at Oaklands in working directly with young people to support them accessing education.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience of working in a specialist school for young adults who have very complex needs including PMLD, SLD and autism along with NHS Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience. You will be able to design and deliver sensory integration programmes. You will liaise with service providers and parents to ensure that therapy is delivered as required at school and home.

Oaklands School Therapy Team is led by our Therapy Team Lead. The successful candidate will join the therapy team at Oaklands and work across both our 2 sites. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills and embed yourself in the school community to support our children and young people in achieving the best functional outcomes.

We have a Primary school (New Oaks), and a Secondary school (High Oaks).
