What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an Office Manager to organise and supervise administrative systems within Harris Primary Academy Merton. If you are interested in planning, developing and monitoring support services and managing administrative support staff, this could be the role for you.
We would like to hear from you if you have:
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- General clerical/administrative/financial work
- Previous experience in a PA role, including diary management at a senior level
- Strong ICT and data inputting skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with both children and adults
- Experience of leading a team of people for improvement with successful outcomes
- Knowledge and experience of operating effective financial processes in line with company/ school best practice procedures.
- Experience of running successful income generation projects within school or company settings

What the school offers its staff
Harris Primary Academy Merton opened in 2014 as a local school for children aged two to eleven. We have a Nursery for 60 children and are a 2 form entry school for children in Pre School through to Year 6. We also have an additional resource base for 22 children who are diagnosed with Autism. Our belief is that children thrive when they are consistently happy and safe at school and that through expert teaching and support all pupils can achieve to a high standard. As a part of the Harris Federation, we share best teaching practice with other Harris Academies and continue to build on the Harris Federation's proven track record in the borough: with two successful and oversubscribed Harris Secondary Academies, Harris Academy Merton and Harris Academy Morden.

Further details about the role
Your main areas of responsibility will include:
- Administration and diary management for the Principal
- Support for HR processes an dfiles, including managing and maintaining administrative systems, supporting staff on academy procedures and recruitment and onboarding
- Maintenance of the academy's Single Central Record
- Managing health and safety compliance
- Line management of the office team, premises and cleaning staff
- Communications with parents, pupils, the local community and the media where necessary
