Office Manager job summary

Our aim at Heyford Park School is to provide the best possible education for all our students

At Heyford Park School, our mission is to provide the best possible education for all students in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We are proud to be a warm, welcoming all-through school with a strong sense of community. Our staff body is collaborative, supportive, and genuinely enjoy working together.

We are seeking an organised, proactive and dedicated Office Manager to join our school and play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our administrative functions. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, improving systems and processes, and taking ownership of making things work well.

The Office Manager will lead and organise our team of Office Administrators, ensuring that workload is effectively coordinated and that the office provides a responsive and professional service to students, parents and staff. The role will also work closely with our Admissions Administrator and Data and Exams Officer, helping to ensure that our wider administrative processes are efficient and well coordinated.

A key aspect of the role will be responsibility for the day-to-day administration of HR and recruitment. This will include monitoring the HR inbox, responding to routine queries, coordinating recruitment and interview processes, supporting pre-employment checks and ensuring that new staff are appropriately set up and supported when they join the school. The Office Manager will work closely with the School Business Manager and Trust HR team on these areas.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a school at a dynamic point in our journey. Heyford Park School is a rapidly growing school, with increasing pupil numbers and an expanding number of forms of entry. This growth creates exciting opportunities to develop and improve the way we work. The school is also benefiting from significant investment, with two major building projects due to begin, representing over £15 million of capital investment and transforming the learning environment for our community. As part of the EPA Trust, our secondary phase is closely supported by Bartholomew School, rated Outstanding in 2024.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, calm under pressure and able to manage competing priorities. You will need to be confident in coordinating the work of others, identifying practical ways to improve systems and processes, and dealing professionally with a wide range of people. Previous experience of working in a school or education setting would be valuable, although we would welcome applications from strong candidates with relevant administrative and management experience from other settings.

Located in the village of Upper Heyford, Heyford Park is easily accessible from Bicester, Banbury, and Oxford, serving the surrounding rural communities.

Please note that we advise applying promptly as we reserve the right to close and interview if sufficient suitable applications have been received.
