What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Previous experience working with children and their famililes
  • Experience of running effective support for families
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Ability to to set up and deliver family support programmes including group work
  • To be qualified to deliver ELSA (desirable)
  • Ability to work with children and young people in a variety of settings within school, home or in the community
  • Ability to work flexibility and supportively with parents and carers
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries when working with adults and children

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key part in helping our children to thrive across the school.
  • Pastoral Leader Main job purpose detailed below:
  • Provide pastoral support for all children acting as a Key Worker for children with specific social, emotional and behavioural needs
  • Work closely with class teachers and teaching assistants to personalise support for individual children and their families
  • Work in close partnership with the Senior Leadership Team and SENDCO to identify opportunities and prioritise support, including suggestions for school development in this area

  • Provide support to parents regarding the welfare of their children eg: attendance, behaviour strategies, support with Home Learning, advice and signposting.

  • If appropriate, be the lead professional at TAF meetings

  • Assist in the administration to organise and arrange visits from other professionals and agencies such as the school nurse and Early Help

  • To be a deputy designated safeguarding lead.
