What skills and experience we're looking for

We are looking for an enthusiastic, inspiring, motivated, pro-active, adaptable and well-organised individual, who has the ability and skills to successfully support/coach Physical Education lessons to a diverse range of pupils and students with a particular emphasis on girls’ PE. The successful candidate will also play a key role in shaping and developing the girls’ PE Curriculum across Year 7 -11, including leading Netball Provision.

You will support Physical Education lessons, across a wide range of sports and physical activities, helping to develop their physical, social and personal skills. In addition, you will contribute to the delivery and development of the girls’ curriculum, promoting participation, performance and competitive opportunities, particularly within Netball

Applicants must be able to manage pupils effectively and motivate and encourage them to take part in all lessons and activities. They will need to work well as part of a team as well as independently and also be able to collaborate with teaching staff and learning support assistants during lessons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the teaching of PE from Year 7 to Year 11
  • Contribute to the delivery and development of the girls’ PE curriculum across Years 7–11, including leading on Netball provision
  • Plan and organise fixtures and competitive opportunities, particularly within girls’ sport
  • Lead training sessions and practices, including after-school provision

(up to three evenings per week)

  • Be an important part of a highly committed team with excellent results
  • Be part of a school with strong traditions and a wide-ranging extra-curricular programme
  • Deliver and organise a range of extra-curricular activities both on and off site
  • Develop professionally and personally in a secure but lively environment
