Main Purpose of the Role
To supervise classes during short-term teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task and follow the work set by teaching staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise classes in the absence of teachers.
- Ensure students complete the work provided and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with questions about the work set.
- Report back to teachers on student progress and behaviour.
- Uphold the school’s safeguarding and child protection policies at all times.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively.
- Reliable, flexible, and able to work at short notice.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
