Qualified Teacher (Special School) job summary

The School is keen to attract a Qualified Teacher who can demonstrate an optimistic and aspirational attitude towards our pupils. It is desirable that you possess some prior experience of working with pupils with special educational needs. However, the role would also be suitable for a Qualified Teacher who may not possess experience but is willing to be trained in the appropriate pedagogy and strategies.

You will be responsible for a class group supported by at least two Teaching Assistants. You should be a team player with a positive attitude who is keen to learn and has proven experience of organising the work of other staff. It is also important that you understand the milestones in early childhood development and that you are able to differentiate well.

You should have an understanding of the challenges that will arise due to the complex needs of all of our pupils.

All Teachers are expected to lead an area of the curriculum in a phase of the School (not applicable during NQT Induction). The vacancy for September will be to work with Sixth-Form aged SEN pupils. Applications from Primary or Secondary trained Qualified Teachers are welcome.
