Receptionist job summary
About the Role
We are looking for someone who can provide a high quality customer centred service with an efficient, positive and helpful approach. This busy key ‘front of house’ role will support the School with a number of reception and administrative functions. The post will require you to be able to multi task as well as being efficient with well-developed personal skills.
- To provide a professional, pleasant and welcoming reception to all School visitors.
- Managing/answering calls promptly and effectively and transferring them appropriately.
- Recording messages fully and accurately, ensuring that they are delivered promptly.
- Ability to deal with sensitive issues whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Managing the signing in / out systems to ensure compliance with Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students.
- Ensure compliance with school security and safeguarding arrangements.
- Answering incoming phone calls and handling enquiries.
- Managing the school's inbox, responding to emails and distributing as appropriate.
- Communication with staff and parents via School Comms & SIMs database.
- Managing deliveries and incoming/ outgoing post.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a reception or administrative role, ideally within a school environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of people.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- A calm, approachable, and professional demeanour.
