School Office Manager job summary

School Office Manager

Hours of work: 35 hours per week (8.15am – 3.45pm – ½ an hour lunch break included) Monday to Friday term time only plus 1 week in school holidays and 5 inset days (40 weeks including additional holiday week and inset days).

Annual leave is 28 days pro rata. Some flexibility may be required to cover occasional “out of hours” meetings (i.e. parents evenings/school events) Additional hours paid at the hourly rate.

Responsible to: Headteacher and Governing Body

Responsible for: Assistant Office Manager and Office Administrator

Purpose of job

To provide effective and confidential administrative support to the Headteacher

To manage the staff, systems and operations of the School Office and support the smooth running of the school

To manage effective communications with parents, school staff, suppliers, contractors, the local authority and the wider community.

Effective management of HR processes and procedures with support of HR provider.

Manage payroll administration and preparation to submit to the local authority.
