Science Technician job summary

Bridlington School are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our dynamic science department. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality science education in a thriving and forward-thinking school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
  • Assist teaching staff during practical sessions and ensure health and safety standards are maintained.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and ensure safe storage of chemicals and resources.
  • Support the development of engaging practical activities and demonstrations.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH and other relevant safety regulations.

Person Specification:

  • A science-related qualification (e.g. GCSEs, A-levels, or higher) desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or educational setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and supporting learning.
