We are looking to appoint:

An enthusiastic and passionate SEN teaching assistant to support our children as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to support children in our bespoke Enhanced SEND Provision (ESP) for children with Autism. Our Class supports up to ten children from Early Years through to Year 2 and is led by a teacher and teaching assistants. The curriculum supports children who may have a prime area of need as communication and interaction some of whom are have a diagnostic of autism. The class provides a nurturing, autism friendly environment where pupils can develop communication and interaction skills as well as working on specific targets as outlined in their ECHPs. 

The successful candidate should:

  • Have experience of working with Early Years or Key Stage 1 children 
  • Have a passion for working with children with SEN
  • Be able to support SEN needs in a variety of different situations and environments
  • Be able to apply strategies as advised by the team supporting the child
  • Be able to support positive behaviour
  • Be able to communicate effectively to all members of the school team and collaborate well with others
  • Be flexible, calm and consistent keen to promote the best outcomes for children
  • Be able to form positive and supportive relationships with children, parents and work well as part of a team
  • Work proactively and use initiative
