We help our students to aim high, be proud and love life, in both their academic and career aspirations, supporting them at every step and guiding them upon options available. It is the daily embodiment of this ethos that makes Walker a truly special school community. We want our students to be proud of both themselves and the school community they attend, whilst developing a love of academy life.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Working with the Director of SEND to support the leadership of the provision for SEND students within the academy.

  • Assist in the management of appropriate resources and staffing for SEND support.

  • Work with Senior Leaders to ensure the academy upholds its duties and complies with legislation according to the SEND Code of Practice.

  • Work with staff to ensure the early identification, assessment, monitoring, communication and referral of students with SEND is effective across the academy.

  • Supporting teaching staff with subject delivery to ensure appropriate schemes of work, lesson plans, resources and learning styles are in place to meet the needs of students with SEND.

  • Helping to facilitate SEND provision for all year groups including, attending EHCP and SEND provision reviews, attending SEND support meetings and attending external agency meetings involving SEND students.

If you have experience of providing support to students with SEND and are passionate about supporting our students to be the best they can be, we would love to hear from you. In return, we offer a supportive and inclusive working environment, excellent professional development opportunities, and the chance to make a real difference to the lives of our students.

We are committed to investing in our staff and you will receive a supportive induction programme and have access to high quality CPD. Opportunities are also available for Trust wide working and career development opportunities. You will also receive consistent support from a dedicated Headteacher, SLT, CEO, Trust Central Team, Local Governing Body and Trust Board.
