SEND Midday Supervisor job summary
Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under guidance to:
1. Supervising a student between the close of morning school session and the start of the afternoon session.
2. Supervising a student on their way to and from the Dining Hall and while waiting to enter the hall.
3. Supervising a student in the dining hall and helping them with their mid-day meal. Providing support with eating where necessary.
4. Reporting any unruly behaviour to the Senior Mid-day Supervisor.
5. Ensuring that all pupils line up in an orderly manner at the end of dinner time break.
6. Leaving the Dining Hall in a tidy condition
7. Leading and supervising mini games with the student
8. Carrying out any other instructions given by the Headteacher which are reasonably within the duties of the post.
9. Establish and promote productive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations.
10. Respond knowledgably to any questions from the pupil about process and procedures.
11. Ensure the health, safety and welfare of pupils is maintained at all times.
12. Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.
13. Provide comfort and immediate care in case of minor accidents, including support with intimate care where a plan is in place in accordance to our policy. Report serious incidents to the appropriate person for action administering first-aid if qualified to do so.
14. Contribute towards the overall ethos, aims and work of the school.
15. Be aware of, uphold and contribute towards the development of the school’s policies and targets in accordance with the school’s performance management and supervision arrangements.
16. Carry out any other duties that may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties, responsibilities and grade of this post.
